Therapeutic Approaches:

Evidence Based Care with Faith Sensitive Support

In counseling, one size does not fit all. I draw from several therapeutic approaches and tailor them to your personality, goals, and comfort level.

My Approaches:

  • CBT helps you notice the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we will identify unhelpful thought patterns, practice new ways of thinking, and try small, realistic changes in your daily life.

  • A strength-based perspective focuses on what is already working in your life. I believe you carry God-given strengths and resilience, even if they feel buried right now. We will highlight and build on those strengths as we work toward your goals.

  • We may use mindfulness and grounding exercises to help your body and mind come back to the present moment. These tools can be especially helpful for anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm.

  • When appropriate, we will focus on specific goals and small steps that move you toward change. This may include simple experiments between sessions to try new skills or responses.

  • For clients who want faith integrated, we can incorporate Scripture, prayer, and Christian perspectives into the work we are doing. Your relationship with God and your questions about faith are always welcome in the room.
